Favourite was built in Liverpool in 1785 and
was typical of the small vessels carrying our
their trade in coastal waters. Many had very
long working lives, the Favourite herself still
being afloat in 1866.Very large numbers were
built, and at Newcastle up to 300 would put
to sea on one tide.
