Description - LE POMPÉE - FRENCH 74 GUN SHIP NPF02 Launched 1791 at Toulon and captured by the British two years later. She served in the Royal Navy until 1817. Armament 28 x 36 pdr, 30 x 18 pdr, 16 x 8 pdr (2 or more 8 pdr removed and replaced by up to 14 x 36 pdr carronades on most survivors from 1800 onwards) Crew 705 in wartime. Sisters include:-Scipion, Duquesne & Barra, Droits de l’Homme, Duguay-Trouin, Tonnere. 120 of this design built in all. (Two British sisters , Achilles and Superb were also built to the same lines.)
