Description - H.M.S. GLATTON – 54 GUN 4TH RATE One of a group of 6 East Indiamen purchased 1795 and commissioned as small two decked 4th rates. Abergavenny, Calcutta, Grampus , Hindustan & Malabar were armed with 28 x 18 pdr guns, and 26 x 32 pdr carronades. However Glatton alone had 28 x 68 pdr carronades on the Gun Deck and 28 x 42 pdr carronades on the upper deck. Dimensions 164’ x 42’ x 17’ Tonnage 1,256 tons Crew 344 men Glatton served at Copenhagen, and was later re-armed as the other vessels but with an additional 2 x 32 pdr carronades.
