Wolff, Belfast in 1877, for Cairns Shipping Co. Taken
over by Thomas, Dixon, Hughes she was mainly used
to carry General Cargo to Australia via the Far East and
China, returning via U.S. Ports with a cargo of cotton.
Also used to carry grain.

Dimensions 230’ x 35’
Similar vessels by the same builder included Steelfield
& Thurland Castle and vessels of this type continued in
use until after the end of the First World War.
