Description - SUNDERLAND x 9 3MA14 The Sunderland, a long range reconnaissance bomber flying boat first flew in 1937, and was the first flying boat to have powered operated gun turrets. 639 were built and although numbers rapidly decreased after the war, 3 squadrons took part in the Berlin airlift and Sunderland’s continued to operate until 1959.
