Description - AICHI D3A “VAL” x 15 3MA09
Japanese 2 seater diver bomber, operated
from land bases as well as carriers. First flown
in 1939, over 1,100 were eventually built. 129
were at Pearl Harbour, and Vals sank the
Hermes, Cornwall and Dorsetshire.
They served throughout the war, though often
as Kamikaze aircraft at the end.
