Best known Japanese fighter of WW2, the Zero,
Allied code name “Zeke” first flew in 1939
and by the end of the war 10,449 had been produced.
Continually upgraded during the war, the Zero
remainded in service with the Japanese Navy
until the end of the war, many of the earlier versions
being expended as “Kamikaze” aircraft.
