Description - 3MR11 VENETIAN MERCHANT SHIP (x2) Most of the trade in the Mediterranean was carried by small sailing ships, rather than galleys, which although essentially unarmed would possible carry a small number of swivel guns attached to the upper rails. Many had four masts the model but only a small crew for reasons of economy. With a displacement of around 270 tons, such a vessel could carry up to 300 men when used as a naval transport.
