Description - BA405 BLACKBURN RIPON First flown in 1928 the Blackburn Ripon was the Fleet Air Arm’s standard torpedo bomber in the 1930’s. A total of 92 were built for the FAA and they remained in front line service until 1934 when they began to be replaced by a slightly up-engined version, the Baffin. 15 Baffins were built and over 60 Ripons were later converted to Baffins. One Ripon was built for the Finland and a further 25 built in Finland under licence. Nicknamed the “Ripu” the type remained in service until 1944, operating from skis as well as wheels and floats. A pair of skis is included. Maximum Speed 126 mph, Armament – one Vickers M.G. firing forward and one Lewis Gun fired from the rear cockpit One Mk X torpedo or up to 1,650 lbs of bombs. Maximum range 450 miles Endurance - 5 hours at economical cruising speed
