Description - BA502 SARO A.27 LONDON First flow in 1934, production of the London commenced in 1936 and by 1938 they had equipped Coastal Command squadrons at Calshot, Plymouth and Malta. From a total of 48 built, 29 were still in front line service at the outbreak of WW2. They were not finally retired until 1941, when they were replaced by Catalinas. They, with the Stranraer, were the last bi-plane. Some of the survivors were then transferred to the RCAF. Maximum Speed – 155 m.p.h.
