Description - BA309 BRISTOL BULLDOG First flown in 1927 the Bulldog became one of the most successful inter-war British fighters. 312 were built for the RAF and at its peak it equipped 10 front line squadrons. By 1937 it had been withdrawn from front line service with the RAF, but still served with the Air Forces of Australia, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Latvia, Siam and Sweden. Of the 17 Bulldogs purchased by Finland, 10 still comprised the strength of the 26th squadron based at Heinjoki when Russia attacked in 1939. A total of 6 victories were claimed before the type was eventually withdrawn in 1941. Maximum Speed 174 mph, Armament – two forward firing 0.303 machine guns.
