Description - BA303 HAWKER FURY The Fury entered service with the RAF in 1931, when it was the first RAF fighter to exceed 200 mph. It was supplied with a number of different engines, but those with a Rolls-Royce Kestrel VI engine were known as Fury II’s. Over 250 were built in all, and they equipped RAF front line fighter squadrons until 1939 when they were replaced by the Hurricane. Subsequently they were used in a training role. The Fury was operated by Persia, Portugal, Spain and Yugoslavia, as well as the RAF and the SAAF. South African Furies saw action in East Africa early in WW2, and the Yugoslav Furies were in action up to 1941. Maximum Speed 223 mph, Armament – two 0.303 machine guns
