Description - NOORDUYN NORSEMAN First flown in 1935, the Norseman is probably the best known Canadian Aircraft of World War 2. It was designed as a light transport specifically for Canadian conditions. Several models were sold to the RCMP as well as the RCAF. Seven were then sold to the USAAF for possible use as a 10 seater light transport aircraft. By 1942 the aircraft had been accepted and designated C-64A and total orders of 749 aircraft followed. A few were used by the US Navy and 17 were transferred to Brazil. The aircraft could operate with wheels, floats or skis and the undercarriage could be changed by undoing and replacing four bolts.
