Description - BGA31 RENARD R-31 First flown in 1932 the Renard was the only Belgian designed aircraft to see operational service in World War Two. A total of 34 aircraft were built seeing service with two squadrons based near Liege. These two seat tactical reconnaissance aircraft flew over 40 missions in support of Allied operations, and flew the last sortie of the Belgian Air Force on 27 May 1940. Although the aircraft could carry two forward firing machine guns, most only carried one, in addition to the observers Lewis Gun. Maximum Speed 158 mph, Armament – one or two 7.62mm Vickers machine guns firing forward, plus one 7.62mm Lewis gun in observer’s position.
